Assessing the Whole Student: Adapted Physical Education Best Practices

This session focuses on refining assessment practices for current Adapted Physical Education service providers and aims to expand participants' understanding of various formal and informal assessments available for APE. Participants will learn to determine appropriate assessments through the development of learner profiles and will highlight data collection practices for students with severe disabilities. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to refine their post-assessment practices, including reviewing assessment data, developing a PLAAFP statement, proposing goals and objectives, and recommendations. Learning objectives include expanding the understanding of assessment options, identifying data collection strategies, increasing understanding of learner profiles, and refining current assessment practices through collaboration. Session materials and cost are partially by state or federal grants.
