Hands-On Stories: Creating Experience Books for Language & Literacy

Discover how to design and use experience books. Learn to create experience books that use real objects, print, braille, and tactile symbols to teach life routines through meaningful, hands-on interaction. Using low-cost materials, you'll build a personalized, accessible book that supports routine learning, language, and concept development. You will walk away with a book you created and ideas to build many more! Session and materials costs are partially funded through state and/or federal grants.
