Region 4 invites students and their educator sponsors to take part in an exciting hands-on engineering design challenge that sparks creativity and deepens STEM learning! Educators who serve as student sponsors can earn up to 10 hours of professional development credit through engaging synchronous and asynchronous sessions, plus independent work. With guidance from Region 4 specialists, sponsors will prepare and support students to participate in the design challenge taking place at Region 4.
How it works:
- Schools can register their top student participants.
- Eligible participants include public, charter, and homeschool students within targeted grade levels.
- Students or teams submit their final solutions to Region 4 by the deadline.*
This unique competition fosters a love of love for STEM. It supports developing STEM-literate students who can effectively influence decision-makers and advocate for themselves and their communities.
In addition to demonstrating their design-thinking abilities, teachers will support students as they develop essential life skills such as effective communication, public speaking, and STEM fluency skills, including collaboration, punctuality, time management, creativity, innovation, adaptability, resilience, and critical thinking.
*Additional information regarding the event will be shared with disricts, charters, and home school contacts.
