Social Studies Instructional Playbook: Strategies for Effective Explicit Instruction - The Fundamentals of Explicit Instruction (Virtual)

Although explicit instruction is critical to helping students learn new content, it doesn't have to be a one-way conversation. So, what does effective explicit instruction look like in a social studies classroom? During this session, we will explore how to make content delivery more interactive by strategically balancing teacher-talk with opportunities for student processing and peer discussion. Join us as we reflect on our current practice and learn to implement interactive strategies and techniques that will help get students off the bench and into the game.
