The Anti-Choking Device and H.B. 549





This concise, 30-minute virtual session provides Texas public school staff with the essential information regarding House Bill 549 (The Westyn Bryan Mandrell Act) and its requirements for the availability and use of noninvasive airway clearance devices (anti-choking devices) on school campuses. The training will cover the key legal mandates, your campus's procedures, and the basic principles of the device's use to ensure compliance and promote student safety in choking emergencies. This session is critical for any employee who may be present in locations where the device is stored, such as school cafeterias
