Positive interactions between staff and students are a powerful driver of school climate and student success. This session focuses on how campus and district leaders can support educators in using Ratio of Interactions (ROIs) schoolwide to build a more positive, engaging, and supportive environment for all students.
Participants will explore strategies for coaching staff to increase the frequency of positive interactions, reduce reliance on corrective responses, and create conditions that encourage student attendance and engagement. Emphasis will be placed on how implementing ROIs within a schoolwide system improves relationships, fosters a stronger sense of belonging, and leads to positive academic and behavioral outcomes.
By the end of the session, participants will leave with a plan to begin the ROI process, know how to collect and analyze data, and set goals for improving ROIs across classrooms and campuses.
