This session utilizes the asynchronous SB IEP Process training course in TEALearn (an
interactive, on-demand learning experience) in conjunction with a facilitated session
designed to extend your learning and understanding of the content in the course.
Participants will complete the course modules in phases, pausing after each module and
participating in the module content sessions to discuss the content and apply what was
learned.
For each module content session, participants will have a focused discussion about each
module by:
• Reviewing the key concepts,
• Expanding their learning through extension activities,
• Discussing common questions, and
• Making connections to LEA special education operating procedures, processes, and/or
forms.
As a result of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the data collection process for the full and individual evaluation (FIE).
2. Write the student’s present levels of academic achievement and functional
performance (PLAAFP) statement.
3. Draft measurable annual goals with short-term objectives/benchmarks, if
appropriate.
4. Create a data collection system for monitoring the progress of the annual goals.
The intended audience for this training is special education teachers, related service
providers, and any other professional staff responsible for drafting a student’s IEP,
including present levels of academic achievement and functional performance and
measurable annual goals.
This session is exclusive to employees of Santa Fe ISD.
