The focus of this workshop is to give districts/campuses a process to use in the development of academic goals and, when applicable, supporting objectives that are aligned to our state standards and accurately reflect the instructional level of the individual student.
The major focuses of the workshop are as follows:
· Data collection, analysis, and decision-making
· Writing a comprehensive Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) statement from the individual student’s data
· Writing goals, containing the 4 recommended components, defining the individual student’s specialized instruction, and
· Writing incremental objectives, when applicable, scaffolding instruction and learning of the annual goal
This Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop is designed as a three-day in-depth training, providing participants with both guided and independent activities to increase the level of conceptual knowledge and generalization of learning.
This is a hand-on workshop with multiple application activities for each topic. The participants will leave the workshop on the third day with tools and resources to take back to their district/campuses. This TOT consists of two days of training on content and process. The third day focuses on how to deliver the training. Each district that participates in the TOT will receive all training materials. This option works well in all districts.
The TOT workshop is great for teams of 3 to 5 from each district consisting of special education leadership teams, ARD/IEP Team facilitators, appraisal staff, special education department chairs, special education teachers, and all other decision-making members of the ARD Committee/IEP Team.
