The Dangerous or Disruptive Student: Maintaining a Safe Campus While Complying with I.D.E.A.
Share
This hands-on, interactive workshop presented by Jim Walsh, Attorney At Law, will give campus administrators ten specific tools to be used in dealing with students with disabilities who are dangerous, violent, or otherwise seriously disruptive. Campus administrators must maintain a campus that is safe for students and staff. At the same time, they must ensure that the disruptive student is served appropriately. This workshop will empower participants to use ten tools that 1) comply with IDEA and state law; and 2) balance the rights of the individual student with the needs of the other students and staff. Districts are encouraged to send a team comprised of campus administrators, central office staff and special education staff.
