Working with and parenting a child with special needs can be challenging at times, but when you add a little structure, you get a lot of great support! Learn how the physical organization of the rooms in your home can aid in independence and safe boundaries. Discover the power of visual schedules and other visual strategies to decrease behaviors and promote successful transitions (both within the home and into community settings). Finally, learn ways to increase speech and language when your child struggles to communicate. This “super structure” can support desirable behaviors, functional skills, and provide a sense of prediction and stability.
This workshop can support parents and other family members as well as parent/in-home trainers or teachers working with families in the home and community setting.
