Focus on Algebra Linear Functions Day 3: Recursions and Functions




On day 3, participants will observe and examine how students continue to use a contrived scenario to move from thinking of linear situations recursively to realizing the relationship between the x- and the y- coordinates and writing the relation as a function rule. This approach will build students' concepts of y-intercepts as the beginning point and slope as rate of change.
