Fostering Algebraic Thinking Day 3: Documenting Patterns of Student Thinking

Day 3 extends the work done in “Analyzing Written Student Work” by presenting tools to systematically assess the extent to which different habits of mind are present in the classroom. Furthermore, it helps teachers focus on particular learning goals and gauge how well the mathematics task they give the students connect with these goals. This session will broaden the teachers' perspectives on classroom assessment.
