Research on Principles and Standards: Teaching, Teachers' Knowledge, and Their Professional Development
Share
"Reform is not a matter of paper but a matter of people." There is a demonstrated link between teachers' professional development and student achievement when the curriculum, teachers professional development work, and student assessment measures are aligned. The purpose of this workshop is to present some of the research findings that support NCTM's vision of mathematics teaching and to illuminate what is known about what it takes to teach in the manner described by "Principles and Standards."
