Treatments of Child and Adolescent Disorders in the School Setting

School evaluation personnel and teachers often work with students of varying disorders who may or may not fall under a special education eligibility per Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidelines. Some students with disorders may qualify for 504 and others may not, but will still require interventions and treatment for behavioral challenges. Regardless of eligibility, school evaluation personnel and teachers should be knowledgeable about students with behavior disorders.

This training, conducted by Dr. Jan Schaefer, BCBA-D and CEO of Collaborative Autism Resources Education, LLC (C.A.R.E., LLC), will enable participants to identify behavioral challenges and plan effective interventions for:

  • attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
  • antisocial or socially maladjusted behaviors
  • mental health diagnoses
