Speech-Language Pathology Statewide Learning Series
Partners in Literacy and Learning

Continuing education is a requirement for speech-language pathologists (SLPs).  The SLP must stay up to date on the latest in therapy and research. The Speech-Language Pathology Statewide Learning Series is designed to address current issues, best practices and intervention strategies for SLPs in the field.

Important Session Information:

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) play a key role in literacy and classroom success by collaborating with teachers to identify and assist children at risk. SLPs bring knowledge of the bidirectional relationship between oral and written language, as well as skills in addressing other key elements such as executive functions. Participants will learn to recognize the connections between oral language and reading, to identify roles for the SLP in supporting literacy and to develop strategies for improving decoding, comprehension and memory.
