Making Sense of Science Genes and Traits Day 4: Sexual Reproduction
Share
There is more to sexual reproduction than just copying DNA and dividing a cell. Sexually-reproducing species produce specialized cells with half the number of chromosome versions as their typical cells. For example, female humans produce egg cells with one version of each of our 23 chromosomes, rather than the usual two versions. This session unpacks the process of sexual reproduction with an eye towards connecting how the process of sexual reproduction creates diversity among generations and siblings.
