See additional notes for the writing prompt.
Important Session Information:

Please bring student essays written to the 2018 Released STAAR prompt:

English II - Persuasive Prompt

Read the following quotation from baseball legend Babe Ruth (1895–1948).

"It’s the way a team plays as a whole that determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don’t play together, the club won’t be worth a dime." —Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth believed that a team could be great only if its individual players were willing to work together. Think carefully about this belief.

Write an essay stating your opinion on whether it’s better to succeed individually or as part of a team.
