During the 2016-2017 school year, the United States Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) performed a series of on-site monitoring visits to review Texas’ compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
The findings from that report require TEA to develop a plan to address four corrective actions. An integral part of the plan development process will be the gathering of input from stakeholders and other interested Texans.
TEA will be conducting a focus group meeting at the Region 6 ESC for district administrators (in conjunction with the Superintendent meeting) on Wednesday, February 21st at 9:30 a.m.
PLEASE Note: TEA anticipates a larger audience for the Overview and Large Group Discussion portion of the meeting with a smaller audience staying for the Small Group Targeted Discussions portion of the meeting. Participants will separate into appropriate groups during the break.
