The Social Detective, Superflex, and Friends Take on Social-Emotional Learning




This course will focus on teaching social skills strategies through the use of the books, "You Are a Social Detective!" and "Superflex", and will share developmentally appropriate tools to foster social attention and self-regulation for students in kindergarten through middle school.

Participants will learn creative ideas to help students understand:

  • self-awareness
  • self-monitoring
  • self-control

Participants will examine how lessons connect to educational/academic standards in the General Education classroom and will discuss the connections between Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Response to Intervention (RTI), and Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports (PBIS).


Important Session Information:


** Session participants will receive a copy of the books "You Are a Social Detective" and "Superflex… a Superhero Social Thinking Curriculum" to be used throughout this training.

*Lunch will be limited to one hour.
