Understanding Depth of Knowledge Day 2: Tasks

Why is it expected for every student to produce the result to a posed question in the same manner as their neighbor or even the same as the instructor?  Especially since all students think and process content differently.  This session is designed to stretch the limits of student thinking through open-ended tasks.  Participants will experience learning through the student lens by tackling various tasks on different depth of knowledge levels so that true differentiation may occur.  Teachers will be guided through given and self-made tasks that can be immediately turned around for classroom use. When implemented in the classroom, DOK tasks will flow naturally from the students and create an engaging environment that will reach from the lowest to the highest learners in the classroom.
