Navigating Through Algebra Day 2: Linear Relationships and Algebraic Symbols
Grades 6 - 8

Understanding linear relationships plays a huge role in being successful in Algebra I and as middle school school students take on the task of learning these relationships, they are burdened with laying a solid foundation for themselves.  The great thing is that this burden does not have to be a burden at all!  In fact, students can find learning about linear relationship fun and engaging.  Through the use of carefully built activities, participants will explore the role of the student as they walk through several hands-on lessons that force students to use algebraic symbols naturally and with ease to help prepare for Algebra I.  Teachers will walk away from the session with a ready made set of materials with student guided activity pages already put together and will find this session engaging and rigorous.
