Dyslexia in Texas – An Overview of Assessment in the Context of Current Changes
Share
In the recent Texas Education Agency (TEA) letter addressing the provision of services for students with Dyslexia and Related Disorders, legal requirements were clarified which resulted in a potentially very different way of identifying and serving students with Dyslexia in Texas.
This session will help special education assessment staff address the many questions associated with these potential changes.
Topics will include Dyslexia screening requirements, the current process of referring for Dyslexia, and the components of and how to complete a Dyslexia evaluation.
Additionally, “what lies ahead” in Dyslexia evaluations and some potential outcomes will also be discussed.
