Texas Teacher Equity Plan & PR1500 Equity Data Survey

With full implementation of The Every Student Succeeds Act in 2017-2018, Texas and districts receiving Title I, Part A funds, were required to examine teacher experience, out-of-field teaching assignments and teacher effectiveness to determine equitable access to effective teachers for low income and minority students. The district’s data analysis of these elements helped the district in creating an equity plan to target disparities and select strategies to shrink those inequities toward ensuring all students have access to effective teachers. This session is a recap of the law, requirements, and resources available, as well as, the updates for the year.

Important Session Information:

This session is designed as a "come and go" style training with one-on-one and small group technical assistance in the required updates of the 2017-2018 Texas Teacher Equity Plan for the 2018-2019 school year submission. Registered participants should bring their 2017-2018 Equity Plans and appropriate data to ESC 6 at any convenient time between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM and visit with one of the ESSA/Title I Specialists regarding the necessary updates to be made for the 2018-2019 submission. The deadline for the Equity Plan submission is November 1, 2018.

Technical assistance will also be given regarding the submission of the PR1500 Equity Data Survey in eGrants. The report will open in eGrants on September 14, 2018 and will be due by November 14, 2018, utilizing the Snapshot Data of October 2, 2018.
