Best Practices in Evaluation and Identification of Intellectual Disability (ID)




This session will enhance the participant's understanding of the evaluation and identification of intellectual disability (ID).  Participants will review the definition and criteria, including the principles of intellectual functioning and adaptive behavior, for determining ID as an educational disability  condition.  Participants will learn and understand the following:  influencing factors and issues, analyzing appropriate evaluation measures, writing a comprehensive assessment with all needed components, and reviewing the role of clinical judgment in the identification process.
