Data Collection and Behavior - What Do I Need to Know and Do?
New Special Education Teacher Institute - Session 2

Learn how to identify the function of a behavior or why a student may be motivated to demonstrate acting out behaviors, and ways to change the behavior toward a more desired outcome. Ideas on how to implement proactive behavior strategies before behaviors occur will be discussed. Participants will learn easy ways to take data on IEP goals based on student’s objectives. Data collection strategies will result in clean and effective data for student progress reports and ARD meetings. Data measurements such as frequency, duration, latency, and A-B-C data will be compared and contrasted to determine which method(s) are best for measuring which goals and skills.
