Enhancing Learning in Preschool through Music and Movement




This high energy interactive session will provide the opportunity to experience developmentally appropriate songs, finger plays and movement activities for preschool children. Learn ways to intentionally plan activities throughout the day that will provide opportunities for young children to learn language, literacy, math, science, and motor skills. Discover how learning objectives may be taught, extended, and enhanced through fun and enjoyable activities. Participants will be able to:

  • identify musical and motor characteristics of young children;
  • identify terms related to music and motor skills for young children;
  • list vocabulary that is specific to music and movement;
  • identify particular skills enhanced through music and movement activities; and
  • plan activities to implement shared ideas and suggestions in the early childhood setting.
