Secondary Transition/Post-School Results Network Self-Determination 8th Grade Project
Self-Determination/Student Led ARDs

This three-part workshop will first explain to 8th grade educators the importance of students having self-determination skills. It will also help them understand how critical this skill set is for school and post-school success. Secondly, educators will learn about proven evidence-based on-line assessments and paper/pencil assessments that can be utilized in assessing critical self-determination skills. Educators will also explore no-cost, evidenced-based instructional materials they will be able to use to teach students about the importance of self-determination and help them develop the needed self-determination skills. Lastly, educators will create a plan to implement self-determination assessments and instructional materials as a supplement to their instruction.
