Speech-Language Pathology Statewide Learning Series
School-Age Stuttering Therapy: A Practical Approach

Continuing education is a requirement for speech-language pathologists (SLPs).  The SLP must stay up to date on the latest in therapy and research. The Speech-Language Pathology Statewide Learning Series is designed to address current issues, best practices and intervention strategies for SLPs in the field.

Important Session Information:

School-age children who stutter can face many challenges, including negative emotional
reactions to stuttering, difficulties participating in classroom activities, and limitations while interacting with peers. This webinar will provide clinicians with applicable, practical strategies for helping school-age children and adolescents who stutter.  The presentation will include guidelines for assessment that support treatment recommendations and goal-writing.  Participants will explore specific recommendations about how to prepare children for therapy to ensure success, and examples of treatment strategies and activities designed to help children improve their fluency, reduce their negative reactions to stuttering, and communicate effectively across speaking situations.
