Number Talks Day 2: Helping Children Build Computation Strategies
Grades 6 - 8




The second day of this workshop will focus on the development of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Number talks goals and accompanying strategies for these operations will be addressed. Video clips of student-teacher dialogue will be used to elicit specific strategies.

Implementation and facilitation of number talks in the classroom will be included in this session. Key components, procedures, and expectations for successful preparation and development of number talks in grade levels, schools, or districts will also be discussed.
