Framework for the Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) Process
Annual LPAC training is a state requirement. Stay on top of the latest changes and guidance for LPAC.

For bilingual and/or ESL teachers, counselors, campus administrators, district Bilingual/ESL program coordinators, PEIMS personnel, and parent LPAC members. This training session is designed to familiarize personnel at any level with the roles and responsibilities of LPAC members. Participants will review the most current policies and guidelines concerning the identification, placement recommendation, testing, entry, exit, and monitoring procedures for students served in bilingual and ESL programs in the state of Texas. All districts are required to have a current LPAC in place and operating in their districts, even those with no identified LEP students.

Important Session Information:

There have been major changes in guidance since July 15, 2018, that Language Proficiency Assessment Committees need to know. Come learn about the changes and what they mean for your district. LPAC is more than just paperwork. All LPAC members will benefit from this comprehensive, interactive LPAC training. Participants will not only learn about the LPAC and responsibilities of each member, but will experience the process and be able to ask questions arising from student scenarios. This training of trainers will step through the LPAC process so that LPAC meetings will be enhanced to purposefully meet the needs of English learners. Participants will be able to return to their districts and provide LPAC training for their members. Handouts will be provided.
