MAA: Problem Solving and Discourse Grade 2
TEA MAA Blended Follow Up Day 3 of 4




In the TEA MAA Blended Follow Up for Grade 2, participants will:

  • connect problem solving experiences and discourse strategies to deepen the content experienced in the original Mathematics Achievement Academy, Grade 2;
  • explore and apply the problem-solving model found in the TEKS as a tool to help students make sense of mathematics and to help the mathematics make sense to students; and
  • explore and apply mathematical language routines to equip students to communicate their mathematical understanding with clarity.

Experiences include face-to-face, job-embedded practice, and online community.

Teacher Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must have completed the TEA MAA Grade 2 training.
  • Have to be assigned to teach the grade level and subject of the academy.
  • $100 stipend will be given upon completion in the time allotted for the online portion.
  • Need unique ID number (see below) to complete the stipend form.
