Routines for Reasoning Day 2: Recognizing Repetition and Three Reads




Routines provide a familiar, accessible structure that supports repeated use until the steps to follow, thinking skills to employ, and questions to ask become automatic.  This session provides teachers the understanding and practice on how to enable all students to be able to engage more fully in learning opportunities while building crucial mathematical thinking habits. The last two of four routines include opportunities for developing repeated reasoning skills along with starting and sustaining thinking in problem-solving situations.  Participants will feel empowered as they leave this session equipped with the tools needed to make powerful and consistent mathematical routines in their classroom.
