Migrant Summer School Curriculum Training
Project SMART Summer Math Program

This session will offer the migrant staff from Title I, Part C Migrant Education Program districts the updated Migrant Summer School Curriculum. The curriculum is an innovative, needs-based math program designed specifically for migrant students. It promotes higher level math encompassing five dimensions of mathematical proficiency, two strategies from the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model and a balanced literacy approach. Sample lessons and activities will be presented for teachers and paraprofessionals delivering instruction to migrant students in the district's summer migrant program.
Important Session Information:
This training is designed for every teacher who will be teaching Project SMART lessons in summer 2019 and Paraprofessionals who will be supporting them. Project SMART curriculum updates will be provided that are necessary for the 2019 summer session.
