New to Teaching Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities?
Together We CAN!




This professional development has been specifically designed to support teachers and staff working with students who have complex support needs, including low incidence/significant cognitive disabilities, autism, multiple and/or medically fragile diagnosis. Topics discussed during the training include classroom structure and organization, visual supports and communication, sensory needs, inclusionary practices and STAAR Alt. 2 test preparation.

Teachers will have the opportunity to learn, share, refresh, and focus on the fundamental skills and strategies necessary to successfully instruct and engage students with significant cognitive disabilities and complex support needs. Attendees will have the opportunity to collaborate and create instructional materials discussed during our workshop. Bring a bag to take it back and use in the classroom immediately!
