Autism/Low Incidence Disability Forum

Teaching students with Autism and/or Low Incidence Disabilities requires educators to wear many hats and be focused and intentional during daily instruction. The forums will be held once each semester and are designed to provide teachers resources and time to build professional connections with colleagues who work directly with students who have been diagnosed with Autism or Low Incidence Disabilities.  Some of the topics addressed may include classroom structure and organization, visual supports and communication, active learning methods, literacy for students with AU/LID, and assistive technology devices and services.

Important Session Information:

This face-to-face meeting is a follow-up to "New to Teaching Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities?" professional development. There are two scheduled onsite events (one each semester) as well as follow-up webinar support that will be offered. Dates for the webinars will be discussed and determined during the on-site workshops.
