We All have 18+ Programs: What is Legal, Appropriate, and Results-Driven
18+ Services with Dr. Mitchell

If you have students who are between the ages of 18-21 on an IEP and served by your school district, then you have an 18+ program whether you know it or not. The question is, does it serve the adult student who is on a continued IEP after meeting graduation requirements? Participants will leave with evidence-based practices for 18+ programs, how to individualize instruction, and implement age-appropriate instructional environments and practices. Participants will evaluate the adult special education services using Quality Indicators for 18+ and determine priority needs for improved services for students 18-21. Participants will also receive data collection tools to facilitate improved programming and post-school results. This professional development is designed for districts that do not have 18+ services as well as districts that want to improve existing adult transition services.
