As students move into and through secondary mathematics courses the content can seem more and more complicated. Many times these courses are taught solely through the use of textbooks and worksheets causing a large population of students to view math as boring. While textbooks and worksheets are a resource they do not encourage problem-solving skills, conceptual understanding, or retention. Manipulatives are the missing link.
