504 Compliance and Dyslexia in Texas

The first half of this day-long training session will address §504 legal requirements, including case updates, modern pressing issues, district-wide compliance concerns, uniformity of use of forms in a district, and the role of the district §504 Coordinator. The second half of the day will address the interaction of §504 legal requirements and the Texas dyslexia law and program. This will include §504 eligibility of students with dyslexia, special requirements for §504 committees addressing the needs of students with dyslexia, monitoring progress on the dyslexia program, addressing the potential need for classroom accommodations, and RTI and the dyslexia program. Opportunities for questions and answers will be provided throughout the presentation.
