Child Nutrition: Virtual Summer Workshop - 2020
Smart Snacks - Professional Standards - 1110




This workshop is open to School Nutrition Professionals and Nutrition Staff Members . A variety of sessions will be offered to provide continuing education relevant to fulfill the Professional Standards annual training hour requirements. Professional Standards for school nutrition professionals and nutrition staff members is key to the provisions of the "Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 (HHFKA). The final rule, published March 2 2015." 


Important Session Information:


Smart Snacks, USDA standards for all foods sold in schools, went into effect July 1, 2014. Learn what Smart Snacks are including food, beverage and fundraiser guidelines. Participants will have the opportunity to input snack nutrient information into the smart snack calculator.

This is an online session led by an Instructor with 3 hours of instruction time. To participate, a computer set-up must include internet and camera capabilities. Participants will receive a ZOOM link to join the session at least 24 hours prior to the session date. Check “My Account” on the registration page to ensure your email address in the ESC6 registration system is correct. Recommendation: check in at 8:45 am in order to begin at 9 am.
