Title III Bilingual/ESL Summer Event
Developing Academic Language during Virtual Instruction




You won't want to miss this event!!  Join bilingual/ESL teachers from around the region and experience research-based, cutting edge strategies and techniques to boost ELL performance. 

Important Session Information:


Developing academic language may seem daunting within virtual instruction, but it doesn’t have to!!! How do we engage our students, make our lessons relevant and motivating, while developing academic language during distance learning? Join us as Dr. Michelle Yzquierdo shares and models building academic language within our virtual lessons.  Bonus! You can use these strategies during face-to-face instruction as well
Each participant will receive a copy of Seven Steps to a Language Rich Interactive Classroom.  

Registration for this virtual training will end on June 24 to allow time to mail participants the companion book for this training.  This session is a two-day event with 3 hours of instruction each morning with an online presentation/training.  To participate, a computer set-up must include internet and camera capabilities.  Participants will receive a ZOOM link to join the session and must check in by 8:15 a.m. to receive session instructions and guidelines. 

Action Required: In order to receive the companion book for this training there are two options:1) to be mailed to you…send a current mailing address to Cristina Woods cwoods@esc6.net by June 24 2) you may pick up the book at ESC6 in Huntsville by sending an email to make arrangements with Cristina Woods cwoods@esc6.net  by June 29. In addition, please ensure your email address in the ESC6 registration system is correct. Check My Account on the registration page. This email will be used to send the ZOOM link for the training and handouts electronically. Please join the session by 8:15 a.m. to receive course instructions.
