Child Nutrition: Virtual Summer Workshop - 2020
Basic Culinary Math For School Nutrition - Professional Standards 2100/3300




This workshop is open to School Nutrition Professionals and Nutrition Staff Members . A variety of sessions will be offered to provide continuing education relevant to fulfill the Professional Standards annual training hour requirements. Professional Standards for school nutrition professionals and nutrition staff members is key to the provisions of the "Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 (HHFKA). The final rule, published March 2 2015." 


Important Session Information:


 The goal of this training is to provide participants the opportunity to review and practice basic culinary math skills. A portion of this training will refresh the participants' knowledge of the basic math principles of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The remainder of the training will focus on measuring and converting measurements, scaling recipes, and calculating food cost. 

 This is an online session led by an Instructor with 3 hours of instruction time. To participate, a computer set-up must include internet and camera capabilities. Participants will receive a ZOOM link to join the session at least 24 hours prior to the session date. Check “My Account” on the registration page to ensure your email address in the ESC6 registration system is correct. Recommendation: check in at 8:45 am in order to begin at 9 am.
