Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
Understanding the process of SEL is especially difficult for students with Autism or other intense support needs. Intentional planning for instruction of SEL is essential and daily opportunity to practice is more effective when addressed across domains and environments. This series of webinars will help educators and support staff to recognize opportunity to embed social and emotional learning strategies throughout the learning environment.
