Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) Trainer of Trainers: New Instructors
CPI New Instructor TOT - Virtual modules with 2 days of Face-to-Face

This training will certify participants as trainers in the Enhanced Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Program from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). The training will qualify participants to return to their school district and train their own staff members in the use of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Techniques. The Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Program has several primary objectives:

1.Training in verbal de-escalation techniques to be used when approaching an escalating student.

2.Focusing on the alternatives if a student loses control and/or becomes violent.

3.Instructing participants in techniques to control their own anxieties during interventions and how to maintain a professional attitude.

4.Providing participants with nonverbal, paraverbal, verbal, and physical intervention skills to ensure the care, welfare, safety, and security of an out of control student.
