Dysgraphia in the Full and Individual Evaluation (FIE)
More Than Just Underdeveloped Handwriting




This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of dysgraphia and how it transmits into a full and individual evaluation (FIE).   During this session, participants will learn the characteristics of dysgraphia, discuss academic and cognitive processes to include in an evaluation, and identify appropriate intervention strategies. Guidance will be based on the current Texas Dyslexia Handbook.

Important Session Information:


Join Region 6 as we welcome Dr. MiMi Gomez, to present an all day training on dysgraphia. This presentation, will provided attendees with knowledge of how underlying causes may affect a student’s ability to write at grade and age appropriate levels. Dr. Gomez will provide guidance on how to collect data, synthesize data, and identify students with the condition of dysgraphia. Additionally, case studies will be demonstrated.

For a Zoom platform, participants are not required to create a zoom account. A computer set-up must include internet and camera capabilities. Participants will receive a Zoom link via email to join prior to the session. Check “My Account” on the registration page to ensure your email address in the ESC6 registration system is correct. Check-in is recommended 20-15 minutes prior to the start time of the event to allow entry into the session.
