Fraction Foundations: Teaching for Understanding NOT by Rules




Students in upper elementary often sigh when the teacher mentions fractions. Research shows that our students give up trying to understand and begin relying on rules when working with fractions. In this course, participants will take a look at the foundations of fractions and how to prepare students for skills that build on this foundation.
