Best Practices for Identification of an Intellectual Disability
Supporting Assessment Personnel with the Identification for Students with an Intellectual Disability




This session will examine the prongs of constructing a comprehensive evaluation for students who are suspected of having an intellectual disability. For school assessment personnel, it is imperative that they understand their critical role in this evaluation process and they focus the evaluation on positive outcomes for students.



Important Session Information:


Dr. Gail Cheramie will discuss how to develop a targeted evaluation for the identification of an intellectual disability. The participants will leave with the knowledge of how to incorporate effective cognitive and adaptive behavior results along with examining other formal and informal data to complete this comprehensive evaluation. During this session, evaluation case studies will be presented along with examples of paragraphs that can be used in report writing. Additionally, there will be time for questions and answers with Dr. Cheramie at the end of the webinar.

 

This is a virtual event utilizing the Zoom platform, participants are not required to create a zoom account. A computer set-up must include internet and camera capabilities. Participants will receive a Zoom link via email to join prior to the session. Check “My Account” on the registration page to ensure  our email address in the ESC6 registration system is correct. Check-in is recommended 20-15 minutes prior to the start time of the event to allow entry into the session.
