All Local Education Agencies (LEAs) will be required to complete a district level self-assessment of the local special education program requiring the input of a district leadership team (DLT). This team should represent several points of view and areas of expertise in order to provide a comprehensive look at the administration and implementation of the local special education program.
Teams may include special education directors, central office staff, assessment personnel, campus administrators, special education teachers, general education teachers, related services personnel, and parents.
Participants in this training will engage in a deeper look into the LEA self-assessment, explore sources of evidence, probing questions, compliance/strategy items, performance categories and quality levels and will be able to complete the self-assessment and support ongoing LEA improvement efforts.
This virtual session is designed to familiarize the district/charter teams with all components of the self-assessment process.
