Child Nutrition: ServSafe Certification
Professional Standards 2600




The National Restaurant Association with the help of foodservice industry experts develops the Servsafe program. Participants will learn about foodborne illness, how to prevent it and how to train employees in food sanitation. The five-year food safety certification is earned upon a passing score of the test.

Important Session Information:


This certification is sufficient for the 8 hr. Food Safety requirement for Directors per USDA Professional Standards and for the Manager's Food Safety requirement per the State Health Department. Certifications are earned by participants who achieve 75% or higher on the test. The session fee and certification test fees will be paid for by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) for all Child Nutrition staff who are employed by a Contracting Entity with the TDA. We kindly request all registered participants make a commitment to attend. Registration will be closed on May 7, 2021. This two-day session is located at Region 6 ESC on June 21-22, 2021 at 8 am - 5 pm. Region 6 ESC implements social distancing guidelines for the safety of attendees due to COVID-19. Facemasks are required while in the building.
