Day 1 of Project TAPP includes the following presentations:
Presentation 1 (AM Session)
Introduction
to ASD and ABA: This presentation will provide an overview of the basic characteristics of autism, as
well as some foundational concepts of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and how its application in a
classroom setting can support behavioral, academic, and social variables for students with autism.
Participants will have ample opportunity to engage with the content and practice the skills learned
throughout.
Presentation 2 (PM Session)Responding to Problem Behavior: This presentation will build on the
foundational knowledge learned about ABA by discussing tips and tricks for understanding and
responding to problem behavior in a school setting. Strategies recommended are grounded in
behavioral science and employ evidence-based ABA "tools." Participants will have ample opportunity
to engage with the content and practice the skills learned throughout.
