Fostering a No Squirrel Zone: Proactive Strategies for Educating Students with ADHD
Effective Ideas for Section 504 Plans or IEPs!

Students diagnosed with attention disorders may present several challenges in the classroom. With the right tools, structure, and accommodations, these students can shine! Participants will learn quick tips, proactive structures, and effective student interactions that will facilitate learning for distracted students. Objectives include: 1) identify the mind/body connection and executive functioning challenges of a student with ADHD, 2) compare and contrast antecedent strategies and consequence/reinforcement strategies, and 3) apply individualized reinforcement to produce positive outcomes for students with ADHD and related attention challenges. These strategies can help teachers and other school staff develop effective plans to enhance learning for students who have Section 504 or special education accommodation plans.
